Robert Doeckel is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Lawyering.
Robert graduated magna cum laude from Lewis & Clark Law School in 2014, and later served as a law clerk for the Honorable Marco A. Hernández at the District of Oregon. Between 2016 and 2019, he practiced commercial litigation and appeals at Garvey Schubert Barer’s Portland office. He clerked for the Special Litigation Unit of the Oregon Department of Justice and interned for the Honorable Magistrate Judge John V. Acosta at the District of Oregon. His scholarship interests include federalism, Oregon constitutional law, election law, federal courts, and civil procedure.
Robert loves the Trailblazers and making music on the guitar, synthesizers, drum machines, and other gadgets. You can find him, his partner/teammate Laura, and their two girls, Adi (4) and Lucy (2), biking, hiking, eating, and dancing around Portland and the greater Northwest.
