Robert (Bob) Haley grew up in the Portland area. After 3 years in the US Army, Haley attended the University of Washington for his undergraduate degree in History (magna cum laude). He then obtained a JD from Lewis & Clark Law School in Portland, graduating cum laude. While Haley enjoyed law school, he did not enjoy the practice of law and in 1982 ended up in the financial services world. In 1990 he started the firm which became Advanced Wealth Management. He retired from there in 2024.
Haley has been a speaker on financial matters locally and nationally, and has been featured in national publications. He has a long history of working with nonprofit organizations, and is currently on the Board of Directors for two nonprofits, including the Oregon Symphony.
Mr. Haley enjoys travel with his wife, Dorothy, and his two sons and families. He also is active in hiking and gardening, and is in several book clubs, each with a different focus.
