Sharon Carey-Stronck
Director of Employer Relations and Career Development
In the Lewis & Clark Law Career Services Office, Sharon Carey-Stronck serves as the Director of Employer Relations and Career Development. She is excited to work with students, alumni, legal employers, LC Law School faculty and staff in serving our shared communities.
In the early 1990’s, Sharon was motivated to attend law school as a means to fight for social justice. She was subsequently transformed (and humbled) by the honor of serving as a legal advocate for the unhoused, a child welfare attorney working to heal families, a certified mediator celebrating the power of conflict resolution, and a long-term government attorney advising elected bodies / officials on our collective duty to protect the public interest. As a local government attorney, she gained experience in a variety of legal specialties and assignments. These focus areas included fair and free elections, government transparency, adult mental health, trial advocacy, property assessments / tax, housing, local environmental regulation, misdemeanor prosecution, animal services & protection, and property code enforcement.
Along the way, Sharon has taken great pride in collaborating with others to achieve collective success. Meanwhile, she holds deep appreciation for the invaluable lessons gained while working through professional and personal hardship. It is Sharon’s hope to utilize the lessons gained, from these triumphs and hardships, to support students and alumni along their own professional paths. This includes insights from navigating her own neurodivergent strengths and challenges in the practice of law.
Sharon is grateful for the opportunity she had to earn a Bachelor’s of Arts in Sociology, from the University of California San Diego, and a JD from Santa Clara University School of Law in Northern California. She has been licensed to practice law in California, Chicago, and Washington states. Sharon and her husband Chris share a life in which they celebrate their five kids, the partners of their 3 adult kids, extended family and friends, two cats, music, art, and the love of the outdoors.
