    This seminar studies the theoretical underpinnings of workplace regulations, while supporting each student in developing an employment-related research paper. The subjects addressed in this course include the social meaning of work, the decline of unionism, and the rise of the individual-rights model of workplace enforcement. To satisfy the course requirements, students will write a substantial research paper on a workplace topic of their choice. Prior to completion of the final paper, an ungraded rough draft will be submitted and written feedback will be provided to each student. Students will also receive feedback from their peers through in-person presentations.
