  • Description:  Advanced Small Business Legal Clinic (SBLC) is available to students who have completed the business or patent SBLC course and is by invitation only. Under the supervision of the clinical professor, advanced interns take the lead role in the representation of low-income, small, and emerging businesses and nonprofit organizations and serve as mentors for SBLC interns.

Below is the number of hours per week interns would need to work at the SBLC over the 13-week semester for the corresponding number of credits:

1 credit = 38.5 hours
2 credits = 77 hours
3 credits = 115.5 hours
4 credits = 154 hours

  • Evaluation Method: Credit/no credit, based on adherence to the Oregon Rules of Professional Conduct and clinic rules, attendance, diligence in client representation, preparation for client meetings, organization and clarity of written work, professional decorum towards SBLC staff, fellow interns, and clients, and maintenance of client files and time records.
