Psychologist Chris Wilson will provide an overview of Trauma & the Brain for Attorneys

Attorneys, regardless of whether they practice criminal law, family law, employment law, tort law, or wills & estates, will encounter clients who either disclose a history of trauma or appear to have symptoms of a history of trauma.  While understanding trauma and neurobiology can seem daunting, using a concept called “the brain in your fist,” Dr. Wilson will present a way of looking at our brains’ response to trauma that non-mental health professionals appreciate for its simplicity.  After sitting in on this lunchtime discussion law students will better understand how the brain responds to trauma so that when they are attorneys they can work effectively with victims of trauma.

Lunch courtesy of Baja Fresh will be provided.
