Lewis & Clark offers JD/MBA Program with Portland State University

Ambitious professionals looking to combine the powers of a law degree and a graduate business education have a new option, thanks to a just created partnership between Lewis & Clark Law School and Portland State University’s graduate school of management.
The partnership, a joint JD/MBA Program, is the only one of its kind in the Portland region, Oregon’s largest legal and business marketplace. The value proposition is clear: students in the program will save a full year’s worth of time and expenses, completing both the Juris Doctor (JD) and Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) in four years, rather than the traditional five. The accelerated program saves participants approximately $25,000 in tuition. Students in the joint program will spend two years at Lewis & Clark, one year at PSU and one year at both.
“This partnership is a natural fit as both of our schools value innovation, flexibility, practical skills, and quality academics. The joint JD/MBA program will enrich the education of our business-minded law students, many of whom will become leaders in the Portland community and beyond,” said Jennifer Johnson, dean of the Lewis & Clark Law School. Lewis & Clark Law School is home to a number of notable legal programs and clinics, from the nation’s top environmental law program to its criminal law offerings to its small business legal clinic.
“Future business and civic leaders will need to navigate increasingly complex legal and
regulatory environments, here in Oregon and around the world,” said Clifford Allen, dean of
PSU’s School of Business Administration. “This program will equip students with the tools and training they need to succeed.”
Applications are being accepted now for when the program launches in Fall 2017. People
interested in the JD/MBA Program are encouraged to contact Steve Goebel, Director of
Business Law Programs at Lewis & Clark, at 503-768-6677 or sgoebel@lclark.edu.
