Biography
Amy C. Liu is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Law for Lawyering I and II. Most recently, she served as a Senior Assistant Attorney General for the Oregon Department of Justice, General Counsel Division, where she provided legal advice to state agencies and represented the agencies in administrative contested case hearings.
Prior to that position, Professor Liu was a Senior Appellate Attorney for the National Crime Victim Law Institute. In that capacity, she worked on the organization’s national litigation efforts to advance victims’ rights, crafting strategic litigation plans, drafting amicus curiae briefs for filing in state and federal appellate courts, and counseling attorneys on effective legal advocacy. She trained attorneys, victim advocates, and allied professionals on victims’ rights law topics; and she co-taught students in Lewis & Clark Law School’s Crime Victim Litigation Clinic.
Professor Liu also practiced law as a litigation associate at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP and Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP. She clerked for the Honorable Audrey B. Collins and the Honorable Robert J. Kelleher in the United States District Court, Central District of California. She received her BA in Economics/Business and JD from the University of California, Los Angeles.
