Tess Jacobsen, President
I am in my third year of law school with concentrations in international and environmental law. This past summer I received the opportunity to extern at a law firm in Cambodia for twelve weeks working on environmental projects. I am very interested in the interaction between environmental, human rights, and business law. My downtime is spent spoiling my cat, dog, and horse.
Alex Henson, Vice President
I am in my second year of law school, with a focus in international law. This past summer I spent three months in Pretoria, South Africa, as an extern for Lawyers for Human Right. I worked in the Land and Housing Department, focusing on mining community issues and well as researching the extraterritorial restraints for using South Africa as the forum for human right abuses in other African nations. In addition to international law, I am very interested in the constitutional law of other nations. Outside of studying I love traveling, photography and, most importantly, my two cats!
Isa Alvarado, Secretary
I am a 1L interested in International Law, specifically international human rights law and international humanitarian law. The summer between my freshman and sophomore year in college, I taught English at a primary school in Essiam, Ghana, and my junior year I spent a semester abroad in Northern Brazil completing a program centered around social justice and sustainability. I also love traveling for fun and exploring new places! I was last in Belize, scuba diving and celebrating New Year’s.
Amy Youngman, Treasurer
I love the ocean and I love to travel, I’ve lived in a handful of countries and traveled through 57. I am pursuing a career in international environmental law with an interest in human rights and climate change.
Demetrius Johnson, 1L Blue Pod Rep
An amateur whitewater rafter, avid rock climber, and sometimes saver of people who fall out of rafts, my interest in law is Intellectual Property on an international scale. Not sure what that means? Me either
Natalie Cristo, 1L Red Pod Rep
I am a first year law student interested in international arbitration, and international
environmental law. I received my B.A. in Geology from the University of Colorado, Boulder, and attended the University of Edinburgh, Scotland during my final year of studies. As a research scientist for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, I was able to work with data from around the world and throughout the U.S. Last year, I worked as an Intern with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about travel, or international law, or the Lewis & Clark Chapter of the International Law Society.
