Earthrise Helping to Protect Country’s First National River
Open gallery
The Buffalo National River was the first river in the United States to receive the “national” designation and is one of the few remaining rivers in the lower 48 without dams. With quiet stretches and swift running rapids, it cuts through grassy meadows and massive limestone bluffs in the Arkansas Ozarks.
Earthrise Law Center is representing a coalition of environmental groups opposing a controversial hog farm that could threaten the watershed of the Buffalo National River. See below for the 60-day notice of intent to sue, the press release, and local media coverage.
