Mark Riskedahl NEDC Scholarship Fund

This scholarship honors Mark Riskedahl, JD ’00 who first became involved with the Northwest Environmental Defense Center (NEDC) as a law student, serving as the NEDC law clerk, a project coordinator, and a student director. Following graduation, Mark significantly strengthened NEDC’s capacity to protect the environment and natural resources of the Pacific Northwest by becoming the organization’s first full-time executive director, a role which he held for two decades from 2001-2021.

The Mark Riskedahl NEDC Scholarship is awarded to an upper division student who has demonstrated:

1. A commitment to advocating for the environment and/or communities affected by environmental degradation
2. Financial need
3. Academic achievement
4. Experience embodying and encouraging NEDC’s values and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion which are reflected in NEDC’s DEI statement
