Dustin Combs ’12

Combs committed to an International Law practice during law school and now heads the corporate secretarial division of Baker & McKenzie’s office in Yangon, Myanmar.

Dustin Combs ’12 started as an associate attorney at Baker & McKenzie in Yangon, Myanmar in 2014. As the head of the corporate secretarial division in the Yangon office, his work there involves assisting multinational clients with their market entry, business establishment, and regulatory compliance. Additionally, his work at the Myanmar Investment Commission involves protecting clients’ intellectual property rights through registration and enforcement actions.

As an undergraduate student, Dustin spent a semester studying abroad in Cambodia. He eventually made his way back to Cambodia, where he spent two years at a local law firm working on banking and finance transactions and commercial arbitration, before moving on to work in Myanmar. As a student at Lewis & Clark, Dustin completed an externship in India where he gained experience working on complex transactions, researching transnational laws, drafting contracts, and observing trials at the Indian Supreme Court. He also volunteered with Catholic Charities El Programa Hispano, was associate editor of the Animal Law review, and participated in the International Law and Business Law Societies. Dustin is a member and scholarship recipient of the International Bar Association’s International Sales, Finance and Product Law Section, and is a member of the Oregon State Bar.
