I learned more about practicing environmental law in the three months I worked at Earthrise than I had learned in my two years of classes. As a Law Clerk, I was immediately given writing opportunities that impacted real projects and real clients. While challenging, these opportunities helped me quickly improve my writing while also building a sense of independence. The feedback I received from the attorneys was meaningful and incredibly helpful. The attorneys treated the Law Clerks as equals, which helped to foster a pleasant work environment. I felt like I was a part of something important, and continue to feel that way as a clinic student.

Following up on work that Earthrise Clinical Professor Tom Buchele began three decades ago, Earthrise is again working with forest advocates in southern Illinois to halt excessive logging in the Shawnee National Forest that threatens endangered species and was rammed through the approval process without proper environmental analysis.
