What are you up to these days?

I am currently an associate at Dunn Carney here in Portland, Oregon.

How did you get your job?

Well, my path was fairly straight forward because I was a summer associate for Dunn Carney both summers – after my 1L year and after my 2L year. But I did have to wait a long time for my offer to come through. See my advice below.

What advice would you give to a graduating student who's looking for a job?

I waited about 7 months for my offer to come through. My biggest piece of advice for current students who are still looking or waiting for offers are: patience and perseverance. Everything will work out in the end. Nearly everyone I know who graduated with me found a job and this is not a bad time to be looking for a job. COVID has made a lot of people change their perspective and be at a place where they are re-evaluating their careers so there’s A LOT Of movement within the legal community right now.
