Brief Background:

I have always been interested in law since I was a kid. From a young age, I harbored a passion for aiding those in need, although I was uncertain about the means through which I could fulfill this aspiration. It was not until I reached the age of nine when I accompanied my father to witness a session of the Oregon Senate. Through witnessing the legislators deliberating and passing bills that impact many Oregonians, it became clear that I wanted to be a lawyer and use the law as a tool for helping people, recognizing its potential to affect substantial societal change. Law has always interested me, because it resembles a complex puzzle. At the start, there are numerous pieces, but by putting them together one can emerge with the potential for a legal solution that is impactful. Each piece, when interconnected, unveils a broader perspective on the application of legal principles with other societal issues.

Why Lewis & Clark Law School?

Being from the Pacific Northwest, I felt a strong desire to remain in this region. Initially that desire and the community at Lewis & Clark influenced my decision to attend. During my time pursuing my bachelor’s degree, I had the opportunity to be a part of the accelerated 3-3 program at Lewis & Clark. This provided me with the opportunity to remain here, which is something I greatly value. I am thankful for the chance to be part of the Lewis & Clark community, as it offers not only a stunning location but also a sense of belonging and inclusivity. The tight-knit nature of the community further enhances my appreciation for the institution.

How did your financial aid package influence your decision to attend Lewis & Clark?

The scholarship package offered by Lewis & Clark played a significant role in my decision to attend. The scholarship eased the transition from undergraduate to law school, reducing the financial strain and making the decision to pursue law school less daunting. Having completed my undergraduate studies at Lewis & Clark, I recognized its unique atmosphere and knew I wanted to stay and pursue my legal education here. However, the decision to stay for law school hinged on financial considerations. The scholarship provided ultimately made the decision effortless for me.

What are your post-law school goals?

I am not sure what type of law I want to pursue. I originally came in thinking of Immigration law, and I am still very passionate about that. However, I have been exposed to various areas already that all seem quite interesting.
