CARE began in 1945, helping survivors of WWII via “Care Packages.” Care continues to provide emergency aid in times of crisis, but their primary focus is on serving individuals and families in the poorest parts of the world through promoting the economic equality of women. Specific goals include improving basic education, ending gender-based violence, providing healthcare and nutrition, expanding economic opportunity and protect natural resources. CARE offers full-time positions throughout the world as well as unpaid internships and fellowships in their US offices.
