Holly Martinez ’19 joined Perkins Coie as an Associate Attorney shortly after she graduated from law school. In her practice as a commercial litigator Holly represents clients in breach of contract actions, class action lawsuits, business disputes, and matters pertaining to cyber enforcement. She is a member of the Portland office Diversity Committee and is the first Latina lawyer to work from the Portland office of Perkins Coie.
Before attending law school, Holly was a speech writer and worked in corporate public relations; in these jobs she developed much of the insight and expertise with which she advises her corporate clients. She participates in several professional associations, including the Oregon Women Lawyers Foundation and the Campaign for Equal Justice. As an undergraduate, she received the Marguerite Casey Foundation Journalism Fellowship on Poverty (2012) for her work in pursuit of social justice.
Holly earned her BA from Seattle University (2014), where she majored in journalism. She attended Lewis & Clark Law School as an evening student, graduating in 2019. In her time as a student Holly contributed greatly to Lewis & Clark. She was involved in the Public Interest Law Project and was an upper division peer mentor in the Peer2Peer Program run by the Student Affairs Office. She was also active in the Student Bar Association and was a member of the Latinx Law Society, serving as community liaison and president.
