Ravi Puri ’02 is Director, Associate General Counsel at Western Digital Corporation, a data storage company that manufactures computer hard disk drives and flash memory. His expertise includes advising clients on product marketing, contract drafting and negotiation, trademark and brand management, mergers and acquisitions, and cyberspace and Internet law.

Ravi joined Western Digital in 2014 as Counsel. In that position he served as legal counsel for business-to-business products and services and negotiated distributor, sales and original equipment manufacturer agreements with Fortune 100 companies. Ravi came to Western Digital after spending nine years advising senior management as Corporate Counsel & Manager of sales and business development at Netsphere, Inc. There he distinguished himself as leader of the legal and domain name sales division, which increased sales by 150% under his supervision. Ravi began his legal career as Associate Attorney at an immigration law firm, Capriotti & Associates, moving after a year into an in-house business law opportunity at Dotster, Inc., an information technology services management company, where he oversaw a rapid growth plan involving the management of the entire process of mergers and acquisitions. He also worked as a contract attorney for Toshiba American Information Systems, Inc.

Ravi is a member and past co-chair of the Internet and Privacy Law Committee of the California State Bar. He is also a past member of the Association of Corporate Counsel’s Southern California Chapter, and participates in Street Law, a global program of legal and civics education for secondary school students..

Ravi earned a BS from Oregon State University (1999), majoring in philosophy with a minor in business. He was Editor-in-Chief of the International Legal Perspectives Law Journal at Lewis & Clark Law School, where he graduated with a JD in 2002.
