Oregon Records Transparency Practicum

The Oregon Records Transparency Practicum is a hands-on, experiential program offered in partnership with Oregon Public Broadcasting (OPB). The practicum trains law students to represent journalists and community members who face obstacles in accessing government information under the Oregon Public Records Law (OPRL). Students work under the guidance of experienced volunteer attorneys and OPB’s legal team to develop practical skills in administrative advocacy, dispute resolution, and public records law.

Participants gain experience handling cases from start to finish, learning how the OPRL works as a tool for obtaining public documents and understanding the processes that lawyers encounter when navigating state and local government transparency disputes.
