The history between ALDF and Lewis & Clark Law School is long and rich with both institutions acting as leaders in the animal law field. For this reason, it made perfect sense for ALDF and Lewis & Clark Law School to join forces in 2008 through the creation of the Center for Animal Law Studies, a first-of-its-kind venture. CALS is proud to work in collaboration with the Animal Legal Defense Fund. Lewis & Clark law students reap the benefit by enjoying access to world-class animal law practitioners, scholars, and programs.
The Center for Animal Law Studies at Lewis & Clark Law School and Åbo Akademi University (https://www.abo.fi/en/), in Turku, Finland have come together to collaborate on the advancement of animal law education in the United States and Finland. This exciting collaboration provides an exchange program for faculty members and researchers, as well as students at Lewis & Clark Law School and Åbo Akademi University. Other initiatives and opportunities include collaborative research, joint symposia, common conferences, and exchange lectures.
