The Center for Animal Law Studies at Lewis & Clark Law School is proud to announce the launch of its online Animal Law LLM!

The Center for Animal Law Studies at Lewis & Clark Law School is proud to announce the launch of our online Animal Law LLM! Complementing our existing in-person Animal Law LLM Program, our remote, part-time Animal Law LLM represents the first-of-its-kind and adds to Lewis & Clark Law School’s already rich history of leadership in the field of animal law education. Designed for both U.S. and international law graduates and attorneys, the online Animal Law LLM will be more accessible to those seeking to focus on animal law in practice, teaching, research, academia, policy, and more. We are accepting applications for the inaugural Fall 2021 online Animal Law LLM cohort with a priority deadline of July 1, 2021!

This remote, part-time Animal Law LLM encompasses 26 credits and is designed to be completed in as few as four semesters. It represents yet another milestone in the mission of the Center for Animal Law Studies (CALS) to educate the next generation of animal law attorneys and advance animal protection through the law. Now, lawyers from around the world can learn from leading animal law experts from the comfort of their own homes and at a manageable pace, taking approximately two courses per semester in an asynchronous format.

Pamela Hart, Assistant Dean and Executive Director of CALS, says, “We are excited to take animal law education to the next level. Our alumni are already doing transformational work to improve the lives of animals around the world. Now, with our new online Animal Law LLM, the Center for Animal Law Studies will be able to make an animal law education more accessible to students in both the US and abroad. We are looking forward to seeing all that our online Animal Law LLM alumni will accomplish to advance animal protection through the law.”

Candidates pursuing the Animal Law LLM degree online can expect a world-class learning experience and access to many of the same courses taught in residence by CALS faculty, as well as by other prominent scholars and practitioners. Students can look forward to a curriculum that features:
