Emily is a very proud alum of the first cohort in the MSL in Animal Law Studies program. She was selected as a CALS Ambassador through the Global Ambassador Program for 2025-26.

As well as being a domestic and wildlife veterinarian, she currently testifies against wildlife hunting at the California State Capitol, co-publishes Op-Eds with the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, appears in a Veterinarian/Animal Attorney podcast about the importance of communication strategies in advocacy, and is an active Animal Welfare Committee member for the California Veterinary Medical Association. She is also a member of the Humane Veterinary Medical Association and the Veterinary Association for Farmed Animal Welfare.

In addition, Emily is a Humane Policy Volunteer Leader for Humane World for Animals and testifies or lobbies for farmed animal welfare bills and propositions when requested. Further, she has been selected by the American Veterinary Medical Association to become a mental health advocate as part of their program called MentorVet Connect that assists veterinarians who are struggling with the stressors of the profession. Additionally, Emily is currently advocating for plant-forward dietary transitions at both the Monterey Bay Aquarium and the surrounding region on the central coast of California.
