Olivia Sedita is a practicing attorney in the Washington, D.C. area with a lifelong commitment to animal welfare and protection. She earned her JD from Boston College in 2022 and has developed a strong legal foundation in regulatory analysis, governance, and compliance.
Alongside her legal training, Olivia has dedicated significant time to animal advocacy and nonprofit leadership. She serves on the Board of Directors of Wildlife Rescue League, supporting organizational governance, compliance, and strategic planning in furtherance of wildlife rehabilitation and conservation in Northern Virginia. She also volunteers with Virginia German Shepherd Rescue, through which she adopted her dog, Ramsey. In addition, Olivia has fostered abandoned and pregnant guinea pigs through a local SPCA, helping them all find permanent homes, advocating for small-animal welfare, and supporting efforts to ban the sale of small animals in pet stores in Massachusetts. She has also engaged in pro bono housing advocacy focused on preventing discrimination against tenants with service and companion animals.
Olivia has loved all animals since childhood, including those others often shy away from, such as rats and snakes. Her interest in animal law is rooted in a desire to address systemic legal barriers affecting animals and the people who care for them, and she hopes to use the knowledge gained through the Animal Law LLM program to have a meaningful impact in animal protection, advocacy, and policy.
