Bethany has always had a desire to have a profession that makes and leaves a positive and impactful difference on both society and the planet. Since she was young, she knew she wanted to pursue a career that involved helping animals. She started out thinking she would become a veterinarian but instead her path led her to develop a deep interest in politics and the law. When she recently discovered this program, it felt like a perfect fit, allowing her to incorporate her biggest passions, interests and strengths. She is looking forward to not only gaining invaluable knowledge and different perspectives but also pursuing a career that incorporates both her desire to help those without a voice along with her affinity for writing and public speaking. Bethany has always had pets, mainly dogs, and she has loved, cherished and considered each of them valued family members. Bethany knows that way too often, animals and pets are not treated humanely and tragically end up victims of torture, abuse and cruelty. This has fostered in her a strong interest in Companion Animal Law and Anti-Cruelty Law, and she eagerly looks forward to learning more about how to help pursue stronger legislation and laws for animal abusers through advocacy and lobbying efforts.
Bethany resides in her hometown, San Dimas, about 40 minutes east of Los Angeles. She loves to bake and cook, and this will be her ninth year participating in the LA County Fair in the culinary and home arts competitions. She also loves history, politics, reading, musical theatre, comedy, movies and following a wide range of TV shows. But Bethany’s main love is her beautiful Dalmatian, Penny, who keeps her on her toes, makes her laugh and fills every day with joy and unconditional love.
