Mary Kay Lynch is looking forward to earning a LLM in Animal Law at the Lewis & Clark Center for Animal Law Studies and beginning the next phase of a distinguished legal career. Ms. Lynch has extensive litigation and executive leadership experience in the private and public sector. Prior to leaving the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), she served in a number of senior legal and executive positions in EPA, including as an Associate General Counsel in the General Counsel’s Office, the Regional Counsel for EPA Region 4 in Atlanta, and as an Office Director in the Office of Enforcement and Compliance Assurance. Most recently, Ms. Lynch served as an Environmental Appeals Judge on the EPA’s Environmental Appeals Board where she adjudicated, among other matters, appeals of EPA issued permits and administrative enforcement actions. Ms. Lynch also served as a Vice Chair of the Deepwater Horizon Natural Resource Damage Trustee Council. Prior to her public service, Ms. Lynch was engaged in private practice with a multistate law firm.
Ms. Lynch intends to combine her legal experience and understanding of the environment, ecosystems, and natural resources with an expertise in animal law gained through her study at the esteemed Lewis & Clark Center for Animal Law Studies program to make a meaningful impact on animal law.
